*at a still in pure passion, the thought of not being able to feel you crosses my mind, but thankfully diminishes. from head to toe you scream beauty, from mind to spirit you have me. every inch of you gives me insight. i'm so knowledgeable of you, simply by the sense of touch. we comprehend one another blindly. reading mutual minds through information that is bodily. messages are in braille and my how we've mastered translation. every night with you is a lesson. i wake up the morning following and think through the day. nothing else matters to me. you take me higher, out of this atmosphere to be exact. addicted to the stimulant called connection, we dread the day we can no longer congregate nightly. in the fear of it being our last, i lose myself in you... sacrificing all for satisfying congruency. treating every 12 hours of absent light as if humanity depended on it.

thePROGNOSIS; a short storyy
*I'm on edge. My palms are sweaty. I feel like the law enforcement is chasing me because my heart is going miles over the speed limit. My mind can't seem to stay focused. I've lost my train of thought. While in a minor state of panic I thought... I'm losing it. I need to shake this, come back to reality. I couldn't help but think about how hot I was. It felt like it was 100 degrees in the middle of January. For the time being, I'm literally in hell... but yet i'm keeping my 'cool'. This feeling I have is uncomfortable. So discouraging. I'm determined to bounce back though. My mind won't acknowledge it, but my body is obviously telling me something. Subliminal messages in the form of symptoms are being delivered, but not received. I'm lost in them actually. I've constantly attempted, but have yet to comprehend these messages. "What's wrong with me?", I thought. Arm trembling, I look at my watch on my wrist and soon after my stomach reacts. As I slowly try to come back into my own, I'm mentally piecing together a diagonsis, a realization of what my body is trying to say. All in all, I'm not in the proper state mentally or physically. It got to a point where I really needed to call someone, but my pride would not condone it. After being indecisive for an extensive amount of time, I decide to disregard my ego and schedule an appointment for this evening. Relaying through the phone in a faint voice, "Around 6". The day goes on and the feeling remains the same. It's almost 6, so now I'm approaching the moment of truth. I'm eager, but nervous. Struggling to even stand upright, I arrive at my appointment. From afar, I see a person standing there and strangely, my symptoms get worse. I'm sweating profusely and from all angles. My legs feel like buckling with each advancing step. I'm really stressing at this moment. Anxiously pressing forward, I get within 20 meters of this person, and all of the sudden there is a calm. A relieved feeling. Almost instantly, my hands dried... my heart slowed, and me as a whole was 'chill'. She looked stunning as I could recall from our brief and accidental run-in this morning. I regained full and total awareness. "I'm fine", I thought to myself with a shocked reaction. I approach her and at last I'm feeling like my normal. I said to her, "This is a fine restaurant you've selected." She said, "Thank you", smiling so appealingly. We sit down and engage in invigorating conversation. I'm looking at her, listening to her, and mentally processing everything that leaves her lips. Although I was fully ingulfed in her presence, I started to realize what these symptoms were trying to tell me all day. My stomach, which I figured all along would help me find an answer, was the last symptom to disappear. As time elapsed and the butterflies flew away, they whispered to me... "She may be the one".

The Color of Amanda Matthews.
If the world was pastel and as serene as the rainbow that appears after the storm, oh the great joy we would find in our eyes on a daily. To see beyond the dull transgressions and dark clouds we cast upon each others lives is a marvelous opportunity to translate for the rest of us. Artist and writer Amanda Matthews has taken upon the weight of her world and has decided to share it whole heartedly with all whom may want to know. "What gives me great faith in art, is that anyone, poor or rich, can experience the feeling that art gives you. There are no boundaries on those feelings or experiences. So I hope to present all my emotions in paint and in words" said Amanda Matthews on the homepage of her website. I have been moved particularly by the two watercolors shown here "The Rape" and "The Seamstress." The destruction, personal and on a global level depicted in "The Rape" is powerful and with purpose forces the eye to realize rather than ignore. As "The Seamstress" reconstructs all that was ruined it provides hope, for there is a "fix" and with the right personnel there can be a new beginning. We are the reason and through thee eyes of another we shall be elevated. Passionately devoted to giving her experience to all, Amanda Matthews has made watercolors her transport and words her chauffeur. Jesse Boykins III; the nu-soul.

The day I stumbled upon Nneka my day was warped into conscious thought and vanished into the sorrows of those yearning for a revolution. She doesn't speak to you, instead she fires at you rapid bullets of immediate cries of action. Her message is vital for your eyes, ears, and hearts. Wake up and stop sleeping on her contribution for she is causing the creation of a foundation our world needs. Through music she is liberating those who are diseased by commerical club hits and relating to those who are suffering every day of their lives. Concrete Jungle released 2/02/2010 and has spread like a wildfire across the world. From Africa to American surburbia let her sound beat like bongos deep and congruent to the drum of your heart. Friend or Foe
Being human is tough, the closer you creep upon divinity the more clouds and gray skies blur your vision. As imperfect people we often become complacent with the fall in which we have inherited. We hold ourselves in a revolving door of circumstance and situation. When in fact we know many rights from most wrongs in all cases. Some things should never happen, yet we let it occur over and over again. Providing excuses for each variance and from every different angle. With this repetition we apply locks and chains upon our personal freedom beyond this earth. Whether we believe in life after these moments is irrelevant for we all can agree that this immediately effects our current progress. In the land of the free to be bond up and enslaved is suicide. We have the opportunity to move toward an addition, yet we hinder ourselves and in this crime we have all shared time expended. We are buried in this "oh well" attitude neglecting the altitude in which we can actually achieve... And no we all can not reign as king. All of us have specific potential that keeps this earth rotating. From your enemies to your heroes your world is built and illustrated proving that the little things matter the most in the completion of an entirety. The Mosaic we announce as life is piece by piece placed appropriately in its perfect position. Not just for your internal expressive release, but also serves as a cornerstone for a troubled soul's new beginning. I have often a time or two left the you for me because it got hard and through my eyes you may never see. Forgive me. I neglected the most high in mutual exchange and abandoned the you for a selfish me. Consequentially, I have seen the wrath of that choice for to leave seemed necessary. Must you understand the extremes of intense frustration, but also hold me accountable for the instance I left you lonely and the same person when I met you. To regret is far down my list of things to do, but knowing I didn't expand my hand and push because of fear of losing you was childish. We have grown and now its just that old you looking at this new me and I'm wrong for you were a responsibility. Placed in my life as a blessing I neglected to influence as someone else had unselfishly done for me. Being human is tough, but being a friend is the hardest trial to overcome. 'GRown Simba': J.Cole is the near future;
the man is HUNGRY. you can hear his determination to surpass all these commercial mc's with each hard-hitting punch line. his delivery is excellent and each time he steps in the booth he commands your attention. with each clever metaphor, the North Carolina (yes, NORTH CAROLINA) native makes his mission apparently clear... the south is more than club-bangers, snap-music, and overly grimey lyrics. hip-hop is present down there and is breathing through the lines of this roc nation artist. jay-z's first artist under his new label mentioned in the prior sentence has released two official mixtapes that you SHOULD have already. if not, do me a favor and slap yourself. despite his talents, his most impressive accomplishment is in the classroom. the st. johns university graduate is chasing his dream with a college degree in his pocket which you can't help but respect. along with other freshmans, he is providing a breath of fresh air in the game and we all look forward to his future. peep one of his recent tracks that gets the "fresh" stamp of approval in the video below. also click the jumps for the download of his mixtapes. +mr.satterwhite

Thoughts of The HEART; an analytical statement.
It is the strongest muscle in the body, in more ways than one. It's the brain for the soul, the driving force behind most decisions. It has a definitive thought process. It can make a small man feel courageous and powerful. A big man weak and defeated. It can push one to the brink of insanity, but it can also be the light, guiding you towards supreme enlightenment. They say if all fails, follow your heart. Never heard anyone say follow your brain. That makes the heart the smartest part of the human anatomy. So yes, obtain knowledge in all aspects of life, but educate the heart as well. Because in the end, everything is riding on it... existence included.

'theTRANSFER'; the butterfly effect.
a single decision can inflict a massive metamorphosis on one's sober reality. tons of bad decisions have been made, but with each one, a lesson is learned, and implemented in other situational occurrences. though satisfying, "d'evils" can be surrounding and suffocating. transition can be the savior, but doing so from one lifestyle to the next is easier said than done. accepting change initiates the process, maintaining the transformation keeps it from becoming just a phase. sacrifices must be made, but in OUR society, it is frowned upon. in the black community, or as I like to call it, organization, the mission is 'keep it real'. 'keeping it real' will keep one sealed, forever stowed away in a realm of exhausted possibilities. sacrifices of the lifestyle should be made, but the losing of one's true self is easily preventable. I've sacrificed a lot making my transition here, but my self identity indeed remains intact. some of the closest people to me thought that my relocation would be pointless, but that's because they were comfortable. I am not at ease... yearning for something more. life never ceases to amaze me, nor does exploring all the opportunities. i see former friends and associates doing the same exact thing they were doing a year ago from today. it's upsetting, but inevitable. society is filled with 'ills', put here to keep people from achieving glory. do I enjoy these ills, who doesn't? our world revolves around them. am I a devout christian using the church as my shield from these ills? no. but did I let these ills consume me? absolutely not. the move i made was thoroughly analyzed, than accurately executed and it has literally made me the person writing this piece. so I leave you with this, trust your judgment and do not let the influence of others misdirect your path to find YOU.

- One of the most slept on artists of all time, Mr. Fiasco, plans to deliver something special when his first studio album since 2007's "The Cool" drops sometime early this year . With intellectual and mind stimulating concepts combined with witty wordplay, he is sure to leave the avid hip-hop junkie thoroughly pleased. He has released two mixtapes in the recent months that were just a sampler to the main course entitled, "Lasers". His tape "Enemy of The State: A Love Story" released on Nov. 26, 2009 was an instant hit, being played on repeat for months throughout the nation. ErykahBADU: The New Amerykah Part Two; Rel.Date: 3/30/10What can I say about Erykah that has not already been said by all. She truly brings out the best in MUSIC, fusing her jazz-ful voice with hypnotic and trance setting instrumentals. Two fresh tracks have already been leaked from the album, which I feel do not even do the project justice. I had a chance to view a video of the listening party held in the city (NYC) and the vibe was incredible. Check out the video of her first single off the album entitled 'Jump in the Air(Stay There)' featuring Lil Wayne in the previous post below, as well as the analytical breakdown of her as an artist, composed by my collaborator Zsa. The album is A MUST HAVE my people.
Small world I think not, for every instance has its glory and every action has its purpose. The Inglewood native rap duo U-N-I have been causing havoc in the pits of the new Hip-Hop renaissance movement for quite some time now. With the buzz collected and swarming around their new project A Love Supreme 2.0 they have built on the previously released "Lately" remixing it and adding the collaboration of R&B hopeful Miguel. The track is definitely more than senses have asked for thumping from ear to ear. To add Miguel's sensual sexiness to the hook brings a man and woman together absorbed in Hip-Hop. to find true love is one of the most beautiful things life has to offer, but the process of doing so is hideous. fairy tales are simply THAT. the fact is, love isn't something that magically happens. it takes work, and TIME. see that's the misconception people have. they are looking for that INSTANT, instead of building for the FOREVER. in order to achieve lasting love, the blueprint has to be successfully constructed, than followed. you build from the ground up. not from the fantasty down. fact is people, finding this thing we call love isn't easy. but be thankful, because if love was so easy, everybody would be at it's mercy. *hip-hop's progression is absolutely astonishing. hailing from BK, also know as brooklyn for those unaware... his freshness,Theophilus London, is not only bringing hip-hop worldwide with his ever-so-clever style, but breaking barriers between musical genre's by combining electronic sounds, eastcoast hip-hop, and neo-soul harmonies to create a supreme sound eccentric from all other artists. his music takes you on a divine journey, reaching out and touching different parts of your mental in ways artists dream of. his effortless, yet extremely creative style is something of the 80's, which brings hip-hop back to the 'fun' era in which the 80's was considered to be. breath of fresh air is the appropriate phrase for him.
